Driver injured after semi overturns on I-75 in Sumter County

SUMTER COUNTY, Fla. – All northbound lanes on Interstate 75 in Sumter County have reopened after a semi overturned on Wednesday morning, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The crash happened near mile marker 335, causing an hours-long closure. Traffic camera footage in the area shows a semitruck on its side and traffic at a standstill.

According to the FHP, a tractor-trailer transporting pallets overturned when its driver, a 29-year-old man from Jacksonville, fell asleep and lost control of the vehicle.

The driver suffered minor injuries and was not taken to the hospital.
