Snow in Florida...again? It could happen

With rare prolonged cold, exposed pipes could become a real concern when temperatures sit below freezing for more than 4-6 hours.

The coldest air in years is about to blast into Central Florida.

We've gotten rain far and few between through the fall season and now into the first leg of winter. But it appears there could be some change just on the immediate horizon once we start approaching the transitional point between winter and spring.

Temperatures are expected to start dropping Thursday through the weekend as a cold front sends lows across Central Florida into the 30s for Friday. Some counties in our area are already announcing when cold weather shelters will open for the weekend.

A strong cold front is moving through Central Florida, bringing lower temperatures, gusty winds, and beach hazards.
