According to FHP, the woman was driving south in the center lane before making an improper lane change, leading her to crash into the back of another vehicle.

After the initial collision, troopers said, the woman then ran off the roadway to the left and crashed into a tree. Reports indicate she died on scene.

The other vehicle was driven by a 25-year-old Greensboro woman with two passengers: a 27-year-old Winston Salem man and a 5-year-old Greensboro girl, records show.

Troopers said neither the driver nor the two passengers were injured by the collision.
