ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – Florida’s homegrown supermarket chain is set to open up three new locations this month in the Sunshine State.

One Publix store will be built in Manatee County, and the other two sites are slated for Orange County, according to the company’s website.

Those three stores are expected to open at the following locations:

  • March 7 — Shoppes at Storey Park
    • 11286 Dowden Road, Orlando
    • Store will be 48,387 square feet
  • March 14 — Groves at College Park
    • 2335 N. Orange Blossom Trail, Orlando
    • Store will be 27,512 square feet
  • March 21 — Market Walk at North River Ranch
    • 11635 Moccasin Wallow Road, Parrish
    • Store will be 48,387 square feet

The Shoppes at Storey Park location is set to be the eighth Publix store to open in Florida since December.

All of these locations will have a pharmacy and liquor store, according to Publix officials.

Several of the locations that opened in Florida recently have featured upstairs seating, allowing guests to dine on the second floor. However, no information was provided about whether the upcoming locations will have this feature, too.

Two other Publix stores are set to open outside of Florida, as well: one in Hampton, Georgia on March 6 and another in Murfreesboro, Tennessee on March 23.

While many Florida Publix stores have a signature scale to let customers weigh themselves or their groceries, the new stores will not include them, Publix officials confirmed last month.

Publix officials told News 6 that the scales’ manufacturer — Mettler Toledo — stopped making them a few years ago.

“The manufacturer ceased production in 2015, meaning that one day — although our wonderful repair shop keeps our remaining machines in great shape — the last Publix scale will retire,” Publix wrote. “When scales are taken out of a store, they go for a spruce-up in our repair shop. They could wind up going to another store, or they may be held for parts to utilize in other scales.”
