Cat dies, another rescued in Seminole County house fire

WEKIWA SPRINGS, Fla. – Firefighters who recovered two cats from a burning home in Wekiwa Springs on Tuesday say one of the pets died while the other, named Sandy, survived.

Crews responded around 6:35 p.m. to a heavily-involved fire at a home in the Springs neighborhood, the Seminole County Fire Department said on social media.

The fire started in the bedroom, but the cause is still under investigation, the post states.

No other injuries were reported.
