FLORENCE TOWNSHIP, N.J. — (AP) — Fire destroyed a large New Jersey church, collapsing its roof as more than 150 firefighters fought to control the blaze. Video showed the Fountain of Life Center in Florence Township engulfed in flames Monday night. No injuries were reported in the fire, which started at about 6 p.m. Monday. "It's a devastating loss," Russell Hodgins, a senior pastor, told Philadelphia's KYW-TV. “The church is not brick and mortar, the church is really the body of believers,” Hodgins told the station.

The Oakland International Airport, which serves about 170 flights a day, lost power for nearly two hours, spokesman Robert Bernardo told the San Francisco Chronicle. The power outage also halted some public transportation to the airport and snarled traffic on other roadways. Airport officials could not immediately be reached for comment.

The fire swept through a barracks in the village of Azat, in Gegharkunik province, eastern Armenia. The ministry said that three soldiers were injured and remained in grave condition. In six weeks of heavy fighting that began in September 2020, the Azerbaijani military routed Armenian forces and moved deep into Nagorno-Karabakh, forcing Armenia to accept a Russia-brokered peace deal in November that year. Firefighters put out fire in Baghdad international airport
BAGHDAD — (AP) — Firefighters at Baghdad's international airport on Tuesday put out a fire that broke out in its departure hall that temporarily suspended flights. According to Iraqi state media, citing Iraq’s civil defense directorate, the fire broke out in a cafeteria kitchen, causing plumes of smoke to spread across the airport, as some passengers looked on from a distance. Firefighters were able to put out the fire in minutes. Three airport workers with breathing issues were treated after inhaling the smoke, while no deaths were reported. In January, six rockets struck Baghdad's international airport facility, damaging two commercial planes but causing no casualties.

The fire that began late Tuesday trapped workers and customers inside the multi-story venue in Thuan An city in Binh Duong province, state media said. Vietnam News Agency reported 32 deaths from the blaze as of late Wednesday and at least one karaoke room and one storage room have not been accessed because the temperature remained high. The preliminary finding was that it was caused by an electrical short circuit and started on the second or third floor. The toll from that fire has climbed to 23 dead, 13 of them on the night of the blaze and 10 in the month since then.
