The Black Friday deals may have already begun, but for small businesses, Saturday is the big day.
Now in its 15th year, Small Business Saturday is meant to shine a light on local businesses and encourage people to take at least some of their holiday spending to mom and pop shops.

In 2024, roughly $22 billion was spent on Small Business Saturday, according to the U.S. Small Business Administration.
This year, 86% of consumers are likely to shop small during the holiday season, including 89% of millennials and Generation Z shoppers.
In Central Florida, small business groups are pulling out some bonuses to get people through local doors. In Orange County, for instance, Orlando’s Main Street districts are sponsoring a free shuttle service. In St. Cloud, businesses are offering free breakfast. Other communities are doing live music and family activities.
American Express, which founded Small Business Saturday, keeps a map of local businesses on its website.
