It’s hard to miss Janiah Barker on the court, and it’s not just because of her size.

“I definitely have a killer mentality,” Barker said. “My thought process before any game is killer, whatever is in front of me, whatever obstacle.”
Off the court, Barker said she is much different.
“Funny, loving; everybody loves me.”
Division I schools want the whole Janiah Barker. She’s among the highest ranked recruits in the country. And she’s fresh off playing in the McDonald’s All-American game on March 29.
Barker is ready to lead Montverde Academy into the national tournament. Her success is a result of years of dedication to the sport of basketball, first taught to her by her dad. One of her goals is to be the number one draft pick in the WNBA draft.
“This game has taken me to places that I would have never been without it, met people I would have never met without it. I love this game,” Barker said.
