Flagler Beach is issuing a boil-water notice starting Monday, Feb. 13 at 9 a.m. and stretching through Friday, Feb. 17. The areas affected: Residents on South Ocean Shore Blvd (A1A), S. Central, S. Daytona and S. Flagler Avenue between South 12th and South 17th Street. Under a boil water notice, water used for consumption can be disinfected by any one of the following methods:Bringing the water to a rolling boil and holding it there for one (1) minute, ORUsing a disinfecting chemical. You can also buy commercial bottled water for consumption and food preparation as an alternative. If you provide water to visitors or employees, use commercially produced bottled water for drinking or beverage preparation (coffee).

FLAGLER BEACH, Fla. — In addition to the flooding and heavy damage to homes, Hurricane Ian has caused more erosion problems in Flagler County. Flagler Beach has been dealing with erosion from a batch of recent storms, but now it’s even more of an issue because of Ian. Massive waves battered Flagler Beach Friday, a day after Hurricane Ian ripped the far end off of the iconic pier. The Flagler Beach police chief said the pier will remain closed until further notice and that no current decision to repair or replace the pier has been made.

Flagler, Volusia vaccine appointments rescheduled after winter storm impacts shipments
FLAGLER COUNTY, Fla. – Gov. Flagler County is just one of the local health departments rescheduling appointments this week. No second doses have been rescheduled yet. Sark said those are for second doses and are rescheduled right now for Tuesday and Saturday of next week. In the meantime, the county is waiting to hear from the state if the Moderna vaccines will definitely be here or there could be more rescheduling.
