FLAGLER COUNTY, Fla. — The building that housed a popular Flagler County restaurant for the better part of seven years is set to be demolished, county officials recently announced. The Bull Creek Fish Camp, which opened in 2014, suffered major damage in 2022 after falling victim to Hurricanes Ian and Nicole. But the impacts of Hurricane Ian later that month further delayed the reopening of Bull Creek Fish Camp. It appears that Hurricane Nicole’s wrath on Flagler County in November was the final nail in the coffin for the future of building. Demolition of Bull Creek Fish Camp restaurant is slated for late February.

The project will restore 8,350 linear feet of Atlantic shoreline from south MalaCompra Park to north Washington Oaks Gardens State Park. We are very excited to get this project underway,” said County Engineer Faith Alkhatib. “Planting dune vegetation - 60,500 plantings - will be installed along the renourished dune,” Alkhatib added. The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) is covering 75% of the $3.67 million project funding and the Florida Division of Emergency Management (FDEM) and the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) are covering the 25% local match.

They were booked into the Flagler County jail and have since been released after posting $10,500 bond each. “The theft of catalytic converters is a nationwide problem involving criminals that know no boundaries,” Flagler County Sheriff Rick Staley said in a statement.

FLAGLER COUNTY, Fla. — A woman was arrested earlier this month after video recorded last month showed her abusing a disabled man in Palm Coast, the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office said Monday. Detectives said someone called them Nov. 22 to report surveillance footage from Nov. 21 that appeared to show the woman physically abusing the man at the Palm Coast Community Center on Palm Coast Parkway Northeast. Investigators said the video showed Chelsey Renee Payne, 30, shoving the man and hitting him in the face several times. A warrant for Payne’s arrest was obtained Dec. 2, and she was arrested at her Putnam County home, officials said. FLAGLER COUNTY, Fla. — Deputies say $5.5 million of drugs and several suspects are off the street in Flagler County following an 11-month drug-bust operation. Sheriff Rick Staly said the operation, dubbed Santa’s Naughty Little Helpers, netted arrest warrants for 35 people. He said they are not necessarily part of one large group, but there are some loose connections between the people on these boards. Staly credits tips from the community in helping deputies round up more than half the names so far. Staly said the drugs are coming into Flagler County from throughout central Florida.
