Florida officially granted Rashada a release from his National Letter of Intent on Friday, three days after he requested to be let go. Rashada, his representatives and the Gator Collective had presumably agreed to terms on a lucrative NIL deal at the time of his flip. The Athletic reported that Gator Collective CEO Eddie Rojas sent a termination letter to Rashada and his reps on Dec. 7. Rashada failed to enroll with other signees days after playing in a Jan. 3 all-star game in nearby Orlando. Collectives have circumvented those rules with zip code clauses, according to Florida-based attorney Darren Heitner, who works with the Gator Collective.

James Ellison, 30, already suspected in other burglaries, was arrested on Tuesday and charged with two counts of armed burglary by Port Orange police. This weeks Next Level looks at the contributions of former Montverde Academy basketball standouts Andrew Nembhard, Filip Petrusev and Michael DevoeWith the 17th annual Montverde Academy Invitational Tournament set to begin Thursday, this weeks Next Level will offer updates on three former Montverde Academy basketball standouts who have gone on to make significant contributions for their college teams. At Montverde Academy, Nembhard helped the Eagles win the 2018 mythical national championship with a 76-58 win against Fort Lauderdale University School in the Geico High School Nationals. In his two years at the school, Montverde Academy had a 63-6 record, including a 36-1 mark in 2017-18. Michael Devoe, Georgia TechMichael Devoe will always be remembered in Montverde Academy basketball lore. Devoe played only one season at Montverde Academy after transferring from Orlando Oak Ridge.

Just a few weeks ago, Florida State looked like a sure win on the Florida schedule, maybe even a comfortable blowout for the Gators in The Swamp. Whats not known is whether the Gators start fast because they havent for most of the season. The longer the Seminoles stay in the game, the harder its going to be to vanquish them. If the number rises much above that, the Gators are going to have a hard time getting off the field and preventing the Seminoles from putting up enough points to pull the upset.
