Chiefs' Henne delivers with Mahomes hobbled in playoff win
KANSAS CITY, Mo. — (AP) — The experience is evident in the salt that peppers the beard of Chiefs quarterback Chad Henne. “Definitely, nerves are high,” Henne said afterward, “but once you get in the game and get going, it's just like, repetition. On the 12th and final play of the drive, Henne hit the All-Pro tight end one last time for the touchdown. With Henne again watching from the sideline, the All-Pro quarterback led the Chiefs the rest of the way to victory.
wftv.comPurdy, Lawrence, Jones have memorable playoff debuts
A trio of playoff quarterback newcomers provided some memorable playoff moments. Brock Purdy, Trevor Lawrence and Daniel Jones all won in their first career starts in the postseason with performances for the history books. Purdy became the first rookie quarterback to account for four touchdowns in a playoff game as he became the first rookie QB to win a playoff start since Russell Wilson in 2012. Irrelevant,” Purdy was the lowest-drafted rookie quarterback to win a playoff start, going 110 spots after T.J. Yates, who won for Houston in 2011. Jones joined Steve Young and Lamar Jackson as the only QBs to throw for at least 300 yards and rush for at least 70 yards in a playoff game.
wftv.comChargers players voice support for Staley after playoff exit
Yet after they suffered the third-largest collapse in postseason history and fell to the Jaguars 31-30 on Saturday night, players reiterated their support for embattled coach Brandon Staley. He led the Chargers to their first playoff appearance since 2018, but his decisions that contributed to his team blowing a 27-0 lead have prompted intense scrutiny. While Bosa, the Chargers' standout pass rusher, is used to change, he said he supports Staley and is comfortable with the staff in place. Staley called a late timeout when the Raiders were content to play for a tie, which would have put the Chargers in the playoffs. If Staley returns, it will be because he led the team to the playoffs despite injuries to key starters.

news.yahoo.comMr. Saturday: Trevor Lawrence levels up in stirring, miraculous comeback victory
But as it turned out, Lawrence would spend the rest of the game being very good indeed. Another errant Lawrence pass, another interception – then another, and another. For heaven’s sake, the Jaguars weren’t going to let Lawrence throw any more, would they? We couldn’t get any momentum going, couldn’t get any drive going,” Lawrence said. Lawrence transformed from a tentative, misfiring embarrassment into the sleek, confident yardage-devouring machine he'd been over the season's second half.
wftv.comLate-season surge has Jaguars' Allen looking dominant again
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — (AP) — Josh Allen was the last player off Jacksonville’s practice field Wednesday. Allen has started getting technique tips from Jaguars assistant offensive line coach Todd Washington. Allen had been admittedly disappointing since, even going eight consecutive games this season without a sack. “Really just getting an extra set of ears, extra set of eyes, extra input,” Allen said. “You have to find a way to win, and right now we’re finding multiple ways to win,” Allen said.
wftv.comTrevor Lawrence is becoming The Guy; NFC South shouldn't be allowed a playoff team; and previewing the head coaching market
Trevor Lawrence is, statistically, turning into the guy everyone's been waiting forTrevor Lawrence has arrived. He's not the best quarterback in the NFL, but he's certainly turned into someone worth building around for sustained success. Intra-divisional rivalries are still a compelling part of the NFL season, even if the teams that populate those games are no good. Ejiro Evero, Broncos defensive coordinator: Ejiro Evero is a first-time defensive coordinator, but he's the only piece of the Broncos coaching that actually works. Still, he's done a fine job as and should get a serious look at head coaching gigs after the season.

The mascot known for pushing the boundaries was shown multiple times during the broadcast of the game wearing nothing but his mascot head, a slimmer version of his mascot suit along with a tiny pair of American flag swimming briefs.
Trevor Lawrence isn't winning yet, but at least he's losing a little better
In his second year, now underway, Trevor Lawrence probably won’t do any of that. Lawrence and Mahomes met in Kansas City Sunday, a mostly routine 27-17 Kansas City victory. Prior to Sunday, the Jaguars’ running game ranked seventh in the NFL with 146.8 rushing yards per game … but the passing game ranked 22nd with 230.6 yards per game. Sunday, Jacksonville caught Kansas City napping with an onside kick to start the game, but then stalled out 15 yards later. Until they turned a fourth-quarter Mahomes interception into a touchdown, the Jaguars had scored exactly zero points off three Kansas City turnovers.

Jacksonville's 38-10 rout on Sunday not only was the Chargers' second straight defeat, but the injury list grew longer as the game wore on. Jackson (ankle).

But no quarterbacks, hardly a surprise in a draft rich with linemen, receivers and defensive backs. “He’s an athletic freak,” Georgia defensive coordinator Will Muschamp told The Associated Press. Another Georgia standout, defensive tackle Jordan Davis, was taken by Philadelphia at 13 after yet another deal, getting matters back to the defensive side.

In 2001, the founder of Mitticool ceramics learned many of his customers in India don't have regular access to electricity. So he invented a fridge made out of clay. And while other ceramics companies in the region shut down, Mitticool is thriving thanks to the success of the powerless, eco-friendly fridge.

The title sponsor for Jacksonville's season finale against Indianapolis is suing the Jaguars in hopes of having its name disassociated from the game during which disgruntled fans are planning to dress as clowns to protest team owner Shad Khan's decision to retain general manager Trent Baalke. RoofClaim.com, a roofing company based in Georgia that does business in Florida, is seeking to avoid "its brand being emphasized as the primary sponsor of the clown game,” according to a complaint filed Thursday in circuit court in Jacksonville. It also wants temporary and permanent injunctive relief from the Jaguars using the RoofClaim brand.

Israel Is Sending Robots With Machine Guns to the Gaza Border
via IDFGaza is often described as the world’s largest open-air prison. Over two million people inhabit the tiny coastal strip, and they must endure a 70 percent unemployment rate; frequent shortages of medical supplies, fuel and clean water; constant power outages; and the fundamentalist governance of the extremist group Hamas. Add to that the Israeli air strikes that knocked down multiple high-rise residential buildings in a war last May—the third war since Hamas seized control of Gaza in 2007.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — (AP) — The Jaguars unveiled plans Thursday to develop downtown Jacksonville, with team owner Shad Khan committing $60 million to a city-owned performance center that was key in luring new coach Urban Meyer to the NFL. The Jaguars expect the venture to be a catalyst for downtown growth that could draw more people to the area for work and entertainment. “My goal is for downtown Jacksonville to be the envy of cities here in the U.S. and elsewhere, and I see no reason why we can’t achieve that goal,” Khan said. Meeting rooms and offices are all located in the bowels of the nearly 30-year-old venue. The 125,000-square-foot building will house locker rooms, meeting rooms, training and recovery areas, medical support facilities, a weight room, dining facilities, coaching and scouting offices, a draft room and public meeting space.

Those are video gamelike numbers, but on the flip side, Florida will be by far the best defense Burrow has faced thus far. Much was made about how Central Florida was upset by losing 27-24 at Cincinnati last Friday, which seems odd. Florida State seems overmatched, but it also isnt the same dominant Clemson team as last year.
