APOPKA, Fla. – Today, photojournalist Corie Murray and I had the privilege of participating in Dream Lake Elementary School’s annual “Teach-In.” It’s a tradition we both look forward to, as it offers a chance to connect with students, share the essence of our work, and inspire the next generation.
Corie, a dedicated photojournalist and active community advocate, brought a wealth of knowledge and energy to the classroom. His commitment to serving our community goes far beyond capturing impactful images. By explaining his role to these young minds, Corie provided a unique window into the storytelling and responsibility that her profession entails.
Our visit wasn’t just about showcasing what we do. It was about giving students a voice.
As part of today’s activities, I aimed to offer them an opportunity to step into the spotlight and explore their speaking talents. Whether it was sharing a story, asking questions, or practicing being on camera, the students embraced the chance to learn in a hands-on and creative way.
We’re already looking forward to next year’s visit and can’t wait to see what these students will accomplish in the future!
