ORLANDO, Fla. – Central Florida residents are waking up to some patchy dense fog this morning.
A dense fog advisory is in effect until 8 a.m.
This advisory covers all counties except Polk County as well as parts of Marion and Sumter counties.
Visibility is a concern, with areas such as Leesburg, Cocoa Beach and Cape Canaveral seeing visibility drop to about a mile. It’s even trickier in Flagler County, Palm Coast and Daytona Beach, where visibility is reduced to less than a quarter of a mile.
After the fog lifts, it’s set to be a mild day across the region. Afternoon highs are expected to warm into the 70s.
But don’t get too comfortable, as cooler air is expected to move in tonight. Temperatures are expected to fall into the 30s northwest of I-4 and 40s across inland areas.
It’ll be a chilly start to Saturday morning with afternoon highs staying below average.
Looking ahead to Christmas Day, early indicators suggest a mild day with highs expected in the lower to upper 70s.
