Organizations unite to help Lake County flood victims. Here’s the info

19 inches of rain fell in Eustis over 6-hour period

LAKE COUNTY, Fla. – Several organizations are coming together in Lake County to distribute food and supplies to people impacted by this week’s historic flooding.

More than a foot of rain fell in parts of Lake County on Sunday, with Eustis getting over 19 inches of rain.

The rain washed out several roads in the county, including Wolf Branch Road, which also collapsed after Hurricane Milton in 2024.

“The yard’s pretty flooded. The home’s okay,” said Lake County resident Emilia Valdivia. “Thankfully, we live in a trailer, so it’s up off the ground.”

“We were inside the house, and we heard it coming. There was just no stopping it. It just kept on going all night long,” she added.

Lake Support and Recovery on Wednesday will host points of distribution in Eustis and Mount Dora. The drive-up events will provide residents with flood buckets filled with essential supplies, such as rakes, shovels and trash bags.

Through a partnership with Kroger, the Salvation Army and the American Red Cross, workers will also distribute food and water to affected residents.

The events will be open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday at the following locations:

  • Spirit of Life Church at 2024 S. Grove St. in Eustis
  • Frank Brown Park at 1351 Pine Ave. in Mount Dora

Flood impacted residents were encouraged to drive through one of the distribution sites where supplies will be available while quantities last.
