80s in Orlando through weekend before dramatic cooldown arrives. Here’s the latest

Central Florida to mild, mostly dry days ahead of cold blast

ORLANDO, Fla. – We’re tracking big weather changes in Central Florida as we head through the weekend and into next week.

The region is currently enjoying a string of warm, mild days, but cooler air is expected to move in at the start of next week. Morning lows in Orlando could dip to 45 degrees by Tuesday, noticeably colder than the usual 60-degree average for this time of year.

While these temperatures are expected to be well below the seasonal norm, they are not forecast to reach record territory. The record low for Tuesday morning in Orlando is 39 degrees, set in 1932. Some inland parts of northern Central Florida are likely to see morning temperatures in the 30s, making this the chilliest air of the season so far.

Warm, mild weekend

Before the cool blast, the weekend is shaping up to be warm and mostly pleasant. Afternoon highs are expected to reach the low to mid-80s through Sunday. Orlando will top out at 81 degrees Thursday and reach 83 degrees on Friday. The weekend forecast includes even warmer temperatures in the mid-80s, keeping things well above average.

A strong cold front arrives Sunday. By Monday, highs are forecast around 70 degrees, and the biggest cooldown is set for Veterans Day on Tuesday, with the forecast showing a brisk start at 45 degrees and a high of just 65.

Slight rain chances

Most areas are expected to remain dry Thursday, with a 10% chance of isolated sprinkles, mainly from Sanford through Orlando, Kissimmee and along the coast. Clouds may be more noticeable at times, especially in the mornings and overnight, but significant rainfall isn’t likely for the majority of the region.

Most of the week’s sky will bring a mix of blue and cloudy spells. Any rain that does occur should be light and scattered.
