VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. – A woman was killed Friday in a crash with a semitruck in Volusia County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Troopers said that the crash happened near Pioneer Trail and Tomoka Farms Road around 2:22 p.m.

The woman was driving an SUV west along Pioneer Trail toward Tomoka Farms Road, while the semitruck was driving east along Pioneer Trail just past Tomoka Farms Road, troopers said.

The release shows the SUV veered into the eastbound lane in the direct path of the big rig.
As a result, the woman died at the scene, though the truck driver was uninjured and remained at the scene, troopers explained.
A roadblock in the area caused by the crash was later removed, according to FHP.
