ORLANDO, Fla. – Showers and storms were slow to form this afternoon and favored the I-95 corridor. We will keep these scattered storms, primarily east of I-4 towards I-95, into the early evening. Showers and storms should dissipate or push offshore after 10pm, leaving for a dry overnight.
Your Monday will feature a similar weather plan as our morning commute will be hot and humid but dry. Our sun/cloud mix will last through early afternoon, allowing temperatures to climb into the mid 90s once again with heat indices at 100ºF. Scattered storms will develop mid-afternoon primarily east of I-4. A strong westerly steering flow means storms will favor the I-95 corridor and coastline Monday afternoon.
By mid-week, we will crank up the heat and begin lowering rain chances as an upper level ridge of high pressure begins to build in over Florida. This will dry out our skies and allow temperatures to climb.
Expect temperatures in the mid to even upper 90s by week’s end with heat index values climbing over 105ºF. Rain chances will not be erased but storm coverage will back off to a more spotty nature. If the kiddos have outdoor summer camp activities or you are doing anything outdoors, be sure to stay well hydrated and take breaks indoors to allow your body to cool off.
