Scattered storms continue in Central Florida to close weekend

Flood watch for western Marion county

ORLANDO, Fla. – A flood watch remains in effect for western Marion county until Monday evening. Scattered heavy rain will be possible for much of Central Florida, but the most widespread and sustained heavy rain will focus along and west of I-75.

While Sunday won’t be a washout, periods of scattered downpours and thunderstorms develop through the morning and increase through the afternoon.

There will be more clouds than sunshine.

Highs top out around 90 degrees with extra clouds.

Another elevated chance for thunderstorms returns Monday with rain likely around for the morning commute. The highest chance for morning thunderstorms will again focus around I-75.

Later in the week the pattern is expected to return to a more typical pattern where storms fire in the afternoon.

The storm motion will return to a more east to west motion focusing the heaviest rain west of Orlando.
