ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – The Orlando Solar Bears have officially broken the Guinness World Record for the “largest gathering of people wearing aloha shirts”.

A significant 1,254 spirited participants wore their favorite Hawaiian-style shirts transformed the Kia Center into an arena of vibrant colors, according to a press release.

The record-setting event took place during the game against the Atlanta Gladiators on Saturday, with the Orlando Solar Bears playing host to an enthusiastic crowd eager to be part of history said a statement from the Solar Bears.

The celebration, hosted by Solar Bears President Chris Heller and featuring special guest judge Lisa Bell, united fans and residents in a tropical-themed extravaganza.

“We are thrilled to share this monumental achievement with the city of Orlando, all of Central Florida, and Solar Bear fans around the world,” Heller said. “We thank everyone for their continued support of Solar Bears hockey and their participation in this event.”

To qualify for the Guinness World Records attempt, participants had to follow specific criteria, ensuring that their Aloha shirts were short-sleeved, buttoned from top to bottom, and comprised of at least three colors and a pattern.

All shirts had to be commercially available to ensure fairness in the record-breaking accomplishment, according to the Solar Bears.

The Orlando Solar Bears wore unique Beach Night jerseys during the record-breaking game, which are now available for auction.
