Earlier this week, Newsweek released a study examining the minimum ages across the U.S. at which point children are allowed to be left home alone.
According to the study, many states have minimum age recommendations — but just over a dozen have statutory requirements.

These age requirements ranged from as young as 6 years old (Kansas) to as old as 14 years old (Illinois).
But what about in Florida?
The Sunshine State doesn’t actually have any minimum age requirements, though the Department of Children and Families recommends that parents not leave their children home alone until they’re at least 12 years old, the Miami Herald reports.
