Buffalo chicken dip

Buffalo chicken dip with chips seems to be the crowd favorite, with traffic safety expert Trooper Steve, meteorologist Julie Broughton and content gatherer Patricia Tolley being just some of those who enjoy it. Tolley said she buys her dip from Publix.

Rotel dip

Anchors Bridget Ellison and Crystal Moyer chose Rotel dip, each with their own recipes. Ellison said she likes to add Velveeta in her dip, while Moyer uses ground turkey and brings her dip in a crock pot. (Rotel is a Texan recipe of diced tomatoes and green chilies in a can.)

Onion dip

Chief meteorologist Candace Campos said she refers onion dip with chips, whether she makes it at home or buys the Tostitos brand. She also said mozzarella sticks were a great option for her Super Bowl night.

Shrimp ceviche

Logistics coordinator Guadalupe Monarrez said she likes to make her own shrimp ceviche for the party and shared her recipe:

  • Mix tomatoes, jalapenos, onions, lime and cilantro with cooked shrimp, crab meat and salt to create a pico-like mix. Monarrez said it goes great with chips and guacamole or a tostado.

Chicken wings

Another popular food for the big game was wings. Investigative reporter Louis Bolden likes hot wings with blue cheese dressing. Reporter Jarell Baker said lemon pepper wet wings are his favorite and shared how he typically makes them:

  • He said his wings are typically made with olive oil, salt, white pepper, lemon pepper and butter, and he pops them in the air fryer to cook. Baker recommends squeezing a little lemon on top and eating them with buffalo sauce.

Meteorologist Michelle Morgan said fried chicken from any store is her go-to for Super Bowl night, whether it’s from Publix or Popeyes.

Meatballs

Content gatherer Brianna Ellis said she enjoys bourbon barbecue meatballs, a staple her friend brings in a crockpot to Super Bowl parties.

Pigs in a blanket

Reporter Laverne McGee shared her recipe for her favorite Super Bowl dish, pigskin in a blanket.

  • “Preheat oven to 375º. Line a large rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper.”
  • “Slice crescent rolls lengthwise into thirds. Place a mini hot dog on the thick end of each triangle and roll up.”
  • “Arrange the pigs in a football shape, sided by side, on the baking sheet. They should be touching! Brush with egg wash and sprinkle with salt and pepper. Bake for 15-20 minutes, until the crescents are golden.”
  • “Draw lines with yellow mustard to mimic the laces of a football. Let cool for 10 minutes before serving. Serve with ketchup for dipping.”
