Celebrate Women’s History Month in March with Orange County’s library events

Fun for all ages at multiple locations

ORLANDO, Fla. – The Orange County Library System will be celebrating Women’s History Month in March with library events and programs teaching the impact influential women have made, according to a news release from the county’s libraries.

Children can explore common empowering qualities of well-known women like Simone Biles, Frida Kahlo, Jane Goodall and more at Pow-HER-ful, an event for children ages 3-5 offered at multiple locations.

Sing along to vocalist Shannon Rae at Music in the Library: Shannon Rae’s, a performance of adored classics by female artists at Orlando Public Library on Saturday, March 8 at 11 a.m.

Hear from a panel of experts addressing the “how” of advancing in the fine arts during the Women in the Arts Expo, a networking event cultivating inclusivity and equity for women artists at Orlando Public Library on Saturday, March 29 from 2-4 p.m. Black attire is optional.

Celebrate Eatonville author Zora Neale Hurston and her history at Zora’s Butterfly Garden by learning about folklore through singing, talking, playing, writing and reading. The event is recommended for children ages 3-5 and is offered at multiple locations.
