ORLANDO, Fla. – Potbelly, dubbed the iconic neighborhood shop, is debuting in Orlando on Tuesday.
It will be slinging its sandwiches, salads, soups and more in the Milk District at 2714 East Colonial Drive. The eatery got its name from the stove that was used to heat up its sandwiches back in the 70s. It has since grown, with over 340 locations across the U.S.

The Chicago-based brand inked a multi-unit agreement with Sugarland Investment Group to build 12 shops across the Orlando area, according to a press release.
CEO of Sugarland Investment Group Shari Nasir used to live in Orlando for more than 15 years. Nasir said in a press release she is thrilled to bring this restaurant with a cult following here.

“I’m confident our first location in the middle of Orlando’s busy shopping area will become a beloved mealtime destination,” Nasir said in a press release.
Meanwhile, the brand has also recently signed five franchise groups to build 40 shops across the Sunshine State, according to a press release. Currently, there are two locations in Florida, both in the Tampa area.
