ORLANDO, Fla. – Orlando Beer Week is set to return for its fifth year on Saturday, uniting more than 50 businesses.

It will end on Feb. 1, according to the organization’s social media post.

Angie Folks, executive director of The Milk District, told News 6 that the week is dedicated to spots across town that carry or produce local beer.

Those spots will offer promotions or discounts, host special events and may even give away prizes. Tactical Brewing even collaborated with multiple breweries and crafted a Hazy IPA called “City Brewtiful” for this year’s event.

However, this year is different, as eight Orlando Main Street districts are now a part of the fun. Last year, it was just Mills 50 and The Milk District that participated.

Audubon Park, City District Orlando, Curry Ford West, Ivanhoe Village, SoDo and Thornton Park District are now a part of the “ale-liance,” per The Milk District’s social media.

Folks emphasized how, yes, the different parts of Orlando all have unique identities, but at the end of the day they are all in this together. She said the Main Street districts have the same goal of having businesses in their district succeed, and collaboration helps with that.

“I think just the kind of that cross-promotion, that spirit of collaboration that everybody has, ultimately will benefit the entire community and industry. Because people will get out and spend more money in their respective districts and then even like, a neighboring district,” Folks said.

All in all, her hope for this event is continuous growth, having it be something that people look forward to each year.

“I want to see tourism tap into this, and it could be a beer festival, and people look forward to it all year long,” Folks said.
