COLLEGE PARK, Fla. – Tamale Co. is set to open its second restaurant in Orlando’s College Park neighborhood, right in time for Cinco de Mayo.
It’ll be located at 2401 Edgewater Drive, the former space held by Mid Drive Dive which closed about a month ago.
“This expansion is a beautiful reflection of the love we’ve received from the community we grew up in, and it affirms that we’re on the right path,” owners Fernando and Jennifer Tamayo said in a prepared statement.
The husband-and-wife duo opened their first restaurant in December 2012 in Orlando’s Hourglass District off Curry Ford Road. It also has food trucks that serve across Central Florida, according to a news release.

To add on, its dishes can also be found in Walt Disney World, as they’re served in the Mexican Pavilion in EPCOT, the new release states.
Meanwhile, this new location will have some new exclusive items along with the classics it’s known for, such as its tamales, fajitas, and tacos.
“We are overjoyed and deeply grateful for the incredible journey Central Florida has taken Tamale Co. on, helping us grow at every stage,” the duo said in a prepared statement. “We hope the College Park community will embrace us with the same warmth and support that the Hourglass neighborhood has.”
