Clogged drain? Try a $3 hair snake!

Step-by-step repair

We unclogged a drain in about five minutes for $3. Before you call a plumber or grab the Drano, try the Hair Snake, especially if you have teenagers with long hair!

We purchased:

Cobra Hair Snake

We brought with us:

Phillips screwdriver

Paper towels

Gloves

Step 1

Cover your shower floor, especially the area surrounding the drain, with paper towel. It’s gonna get yucky!

Step 2

Open up your drain. Use a Phillips screwdriver to unscrew the 2 screws that hold your drain cover in place.

Step 3

Stick the Hair Snake down the drain. Push it in as far as it goes and then twist! I bet you’ll snag a glob of gook and hair. Pull it out, peel off the nastiness using the paper towel and put the snake back into the drain. Keep doing this until you pull out nothing else.

Step 4

Put the drain cover back in place with the screws and screwdriver.

You just got results at home!

If you have a project you’d like Erik to tackle, send us an email at GettingResultsAtHome@wkmg.com and next week Erik might just show up at your door!
