That’s right, Pegasus is the academic “mascot” of the University of Central Florida and just like its role in Greek mythology, it escorted the brave on new adventures, sort of like college.

These winged horses are located at UCF’s Burnett Honors College, which was founded in 1982.

Along with a generous gift from Al and Nancy Burnett, construction began on a new home for the honors program in 2001 and was dedicated to the Central Floridians in 2002.

With more than 2,300 students currently enrolled in the program, UCF is proud of its Burnett Honors College alumni network of more than 12,500.

UCF has much to be proud of and was recently ranked as one of the best colleges in the state. Read more now.
