The solar amendment has been critiqued for its backing by Florida power companies and newspaper editorial boards have said it would open the door for power monopolies.

“We’ve been enjoying the sun for most of our lives living in Florida. Now it’s time to use it right and use it for everybody’s benefit,” Buffett said.

The Margaritaville singer said he filmed the video from California while filling out his absentee Florida ballot.

Buffett owns several Florida restaurants and resorts that incorporate his beach lifestyle.

“Amendment 2, medical marijuana. Duh,” Buffett said.

“I can tell you from first-hand experience that medical marijuana is a great cure,” he added, referencing an injury after falling off the stage while performing in Australia.

Amendments 1 and 2 both need 60 percent of the vote to pass.
