SATELLITE BEACH, Fla. – Posted outside the bathrooms at Hightower Beach Park in Satellite Beach is a composite sketch that has plagued the community for a month.
The sketch is of a man who police say pulled a woman out of her car window then raped and beat her repeatedly on Feb. 12.
The sketch looks almost identical to the mugshot of Harry Page, 36, the man now arrested for the attack. Documents showed that this isn't the first time Page has been accused of brutalizing a woman.
According to court records from Pasco County dating back to 2000, Page was convicted of kidnapping and sexual battery with a weapon.
Records show he grabbed a woman training for the Disney Marathon while she was jogging early in the morning of Oct.13, 2001. He pulled her into the woods, where he raped, beat and threatened to cut the woman with a knife.
"[The victim] was visibly shaken and upset. She had numerous bruises and swelling on her face. Her left eye was nearly swollen closed," the 2001 report read.
Page was convicted of the attack in 2002 and served 13 years in prison. He was released in July 2015, only to be arrested on Friday in connection with a similar attack again in Satellite Beach.
Police said DNA evidence from the FDLE lab led them right to Page's doorstep in Polk County.
"He's a registered violent sexual predator," Satellite Beach Police Chief Jeff Pearson said Saturday while announcing Page's arrest. "Violent. Violent and disturbed. Because anyone that can do anything like that, especially to a woman, it's just it's just disgusting and he needs to be in jail, he needs to stay in jail."
The victim suffered serious injuries in the attack at Hightower Beach Park and required hospitalization. She bit Page's tongue while trying to defend herself, police said.
As of Monday, Page was in Polk County jail on a no bond status, awaiting extradition to Brevard County.
