The plant-based diet focuses on eliminating or reducing processed foods and centers on fruits, vegetables, beans, lentils, whole grains, nuts and seeds.

US News and World Report announced the rankings on Monday after a panel of health experts reviewed research of about 39 different eating plans from medical journals, government reports and other resources.
