Every Disney Cruise Line ship has a story with unique characters on the stern and the Treasure is no different. – Every Disney Cruise Line ship has a story with unique characters on the stern and the Treasure is no different.
“The theme of the Disney Treasure is adventure and it goes back to Walt Disney’s love of exploration and so we thought about what new stories we could tell and we really went back to our roots, into our legacy and we’re bringing forward some incredible tales,” said Director of Marketing and Sales Strategy Jennifer Haile Tinn.
The Treasure features Peter Pan and Captain Hook on the stern of the ship.
When you first walk onto the ship, you enter the Grand Hall that embodies the adventure theme with influences from Asia and Africa with jewel colors including blue and red along with gold accents.
“Of course, there’s nobody better than Aladdin and Jazmin to really be the Establishing moment of all the stories we’re going to tell but right here in the Grand Hall in the ship,” said Tinn.
The main statue in the Grand Hall features Jasmine and Aladdin riding on the magic carpet along with the iconic genie lamp alongside it. When you look up, there’s a chandelier that transforms throughout the day, but if you look closely you’ll notice some hidden gems.
“What we’ve done is, we’ve also paid homage to the other ships sailing in our fleet. For every ship that we have sailing in the water, all six of them, each lantern represents one of those ships and they have little hidden details in them that represent the atrium character statue on each of the ships,” said Tinn.
If you look closely at the lanterns, there is a symbol that represents each of the six Disney Cruise Line ships:
- Donald - Dream
- Mickey - Magic
- Minnie - Fantasy
- Shell - Wonder
- Slipper - Wish
- Lamp - Treasure
Looking down, there are also unique designs on the carpet of the atrium.
“In the hall, every central gathering place needs a fountain. You may look at your feet and find there’s water right below in the designs of the carpet. The fountain actually starts up two decks tall, so our Imagineers designed a smaller fountain on the carpet that cascades down to Deck Four and down to Deck Three, where the Grand Hall fountain is on the carpet. it’s those little things that I think our guests love to discover when they hear the stories,” said Tinn.
The Grand Hall is also the main area where you’ll find familiar faces and Disney characters visiting throughout the cruise.
“We have a lot of characters that join us in the Grand Hall. I mean, this is part of our living theater and so you might find when you walk on board Aladdin and Jasmine. You may find the Genie you may find your best and favorite Disney friends throughout, so what’s great about our ships is when our characters come they stay to play,” said Tinn.
