Applications taken through Feb. 14

AUSTIN, Minn. – Planters is once again searching for its next squad of Peanutters, an intrepid troupe of brand ambassadors tasked with (and paid a salary with benefits for) traveling the country in the unmistakable peanut-shaped NUTmobile.

The NUTmobile was actually just in town last week — stopping Jan. 6 at a rock-climbing gym along Sand Lake Road — and will be in Florida until later this month when it makes the schlep to Alabama for a peanut trade show in Dothan.

The job description states being a Peanutter is in large part a marketing gig with requirements including a bachelor’s degree, a valid driver’s license and a “can-do attitude.” According to Hormel Foods, the lucky few are responsible for planning and executing more than 200 events across the U.S. while promoting Planters and the NUTmobile in all forms, from social media to local media and tens of thousands of one-on-one customer interactions.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, securing media in markets across the United States, creating a positive brand experience for all direct consumer interactions, documenting and brainstorming creative content for the NUTmobile vehicle’s social media channels, while enthusiastically generating positive brand awareness for Hormel Foods.

Peanutters are said to get medical, dental, vision, prescription drug coverage, 401(k) and match, access to wellness resources, life insurance, tuition reimbursement, paid time off and more at a starting rate of $45,000 annually, a somewhat competitive offer compared to the $35,600 base salary of those in the not-dissimilar Oscar Mayer Hotdogger program.

Interested applicants have until Feb. 14 to submit a video audition and formal application.
