Why did the alligator cross the road? Not sure we’ll ever know, but it sure got the attention of drivers.
Motorists in Sarasota came to a halt Thursday when a 10-foot alligator, missing a front foot, made its way across a street.

“We got a straight hog. Look at this beast. It’s like a 10-footer,” said Daniel Kaufman after he stopped in the roadway to record video of the gator crossing.
The giant reptile could be seen slowly making its way across several lanes of traffic before picking up speed at the median and heading right toward Kaufman as he recorded video from his truck.
As the gator gets closer to Kaufman, he says, “He’s going under my truck. It’s official. He is under my truck.”
As the gator passed under his truck, Kaufman said he felt his truck move.
It’s not known what happened to the gator.
