TAMPA, Fla. – Pop rock pickles, Barbie funnel cakes and even bacon apple fries – the Florida State Fair is your spot for wacky and fun foods.
On Thursday, leaders announced some of the delicious food that people can expect when the state fair opens on Feb. 8.

The Florida State Fair, first held in Tampa in 1904, has become one of the largest events in the Sunshine State, attracting more than 500,000 people during its 12-day run just outside of Tampa. Each year, the fair brings in people expecting to see interactive animal exhibits, attractions along a large midway, a circus and a robust agriculture program.
One of the big highlights of the fair each year includes some of the food and drinks.

New food items include the following:
- Temperamental Hog Funnel Cake: A savory, BBQ, cornmeal-based funnel cake topped with pulled pork.
- Pop Rock Pickle: A pickle wrapped in a chocolate-dipped Fruit Roll-up and topped with Pop Rocks, Fruity Pebbles or Flaming Hot Cheetos.
- Oreo Cookie Cinnamon Bun: A unique combination that melds the flavors of a classic Oreo cookie with the delightful taste of a cinnamon bun.
- Honey Bunny Curd Burger: A flame-grilled burger topped with melted cheese curds nestled between two Honey Buns.
- Spicy Korean Corndog: A decadent hot dog dipped in buttermilk batter, layered with cheese and coated in crushed Flaming Hot Cheetos.
- Barbie Funnel Cake: This treat is topped with powdered sugar, pink icing and a variety of sprinkles.
- Campfire Dog: An all-beef hotdog topped with baked beans and Applewood bacon.
- Lemonade Funnel Cake: Classic funnel cake with a sweet lemon-flavored topping.
- Fried Spam Grilled Cheese: A delicious twist on the classic, featuring crispy pan-fried spam layered with gooey melted cheese between toasted bread.
- Bacon, Caramel, Peanut Butter Apple Fries: Apple fries topped with crispy bacon, Ghirardelli caramel and peanut butter powder.
New entertainment this year includes a Sea Lion Splash, Texas Trick horse riders and a log run competition.
The fair’s opening weekend will include an exclusive concert from Tigirlily Gold, silent discos, a pop-up market and a fireworks display.
The Florida State Fair runs through Feb. 19.
