Trappers wrangle 2 huge gators at Florida park

Gators will be relocated to Florida Keys, officials say

FORT MYERS, Fla. – Some tense moments were caught on camera Thursday at a park in South Florida as trappers had to wrangle not one, but two huge alligators.

The gators were spotted at Lakes Park in Fort Myers, not far from where families were renting paddle boards and kayaks.

With alligator mating season approaching, Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission trappers moved in to wrangle the gators rather than risking the safety of people at the park.

One of the alligators was said to be nearly 10-feet long.

FWC officials say the alligators are being relocated and will live on a farm in the Florida Keys.
