‘Get him!’ Horseback-riding Florida officers chase down suspect, video shows

Quarter-mile pursuit ends in arrest

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Body-worn camera video from the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office shows officers on horseback chase down a man accused in a drug deal earlier this week.

Recorded Tuesday, the footage starts with 25-year-old Jordan Wilson backing away from several horse-riding officers before darting across a street, at one point forcing an oncoming driver to hit the brakes.

“Come on. Get him, Nash! Get that bad man! Get that bad man, Nash! Get him!” Officer Cassie Haire said to Police Service Horse Nash as they galloped after Wilson.

The pursuit ended after about a quarter mile, with camera views from the ground depicting an exhausted Wilson being led to the backseat of a waiting patrol vehicle.

The sheriff’s office, which shared the videos Wednesday on social media, thanked Nash’s fellow “crime-fighting steeds” Jaxx, Judge, and Duke “for making sure justice was the mane priority.”
