Arrest made after 16-year-old shot dead at Isle Apartments in Orlando

ORLANDO, Fla. – A 16-year-old boy was shot and killed Sunday at the Isle Apartments in Orlando, according to police.

Orlando police on Monday identified the victim as David Butterworth.

Officers said the fatal shooting happened around 7:45 p.m. on Long Road at the apartment complex.

When the officers arrived, they said they found Butterworth suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest. He was taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center and was pronounced dead, according to police.

Orlando Police Officers arrested Oscar Valencia and charged him with second-degree murder.

Police said the shooting is not believed to be connected to another shooting in Orlando that left an 18-year-old Ocoee High School senior dead.
