ORLANDO, Fla. – AdventHealth’s Central Florida Division’s CEO, Darly Tol, has resigned from his role.

Tol, president and CEO of the subset of the healthcare system, shared his decision Wednesday. The move comes as AdventHealth works on a community vaccination plan to offer protection against the coronavirus, according to a news release.

“I have been blessed to serve AdventHealth for 20 years and help lead this company in Extending the Healing Ministry of Christ,” Tol said in a statement “AdventHealth is blessed with strong, capable leaders who will continue this important work into the future.”

Tol or AdventHealth did not provide a reason for his resignation, though leadership expressed it was not a decision they foresaw.

“Daryl’s decision was certainly unanticipated and he will be greatly missed,” Terry Shaw, president and CEO of AdventHealth said. “I have valued my working relationship with Daryl and appreciate the many things he has accomplished during his tenure with AdventHealth. I have full confidence in our team to continue to save lives, innovate and help curb the spread of COVID-19 in our community.”

Adventhealth says work is underway to select a permanent replacement in the coming weeks. Jennifer Wandersleben, a regional CEO for the Central Florida Division, will provide divisional leadership until a successor is decided upon.
