26-year-old man dies in crash on Pine Hills Road

Victim was making U-turn

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – A 26-year-old Orlando man was killed during a crash on Pine Hills Road Monday afternoon, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Trooper said the crash took place Monday at 1:10 p.m. on Pine Hills Road at Champagne Circle.

Records show the victim had just made a U-turn and entered the direct path of another car that was driving southbound on Pine Hills Road, causing the front of that car to hit the rear end of the victim’s sedan.

The victim was taken to a hospital, where he died. It’s unknown whether he was wearing a seat belt. His name has not been released.

The 32-year-old man driving the other car suffered minor injuries, according to the report.

Sky 6 flew over the scene and spotted two vehicles -- one with its front and the rear of the other -- badly damaged.

Southbound lanes of Pine Hills Road were blocked following the crash, troopers said.

Troopers initially said the crash involved three vehicles.
