HIALEAH, Fla. – CVS will now offer the COVID-19 vaccine at select pharmacies in Florida, according to Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis.
The governor made the announcement in South Florida Tuesday, saying CVS brands like CVS Pharmacy y más and Navarro Discount Pharmacies will also administer the vaccine in Miami-Dade County.

While speaking at a Navarro Discount Pharmacy in Hialeah, he said this vaccine expansion will extend to 15 traditional CVS stores, including one location in Flagler and Volusia counties.
The governor said these locations were strategically selected due to health disparities within the communities.
“Basically, they were selected to help ensure vaccines reached underserved areas,” he said.
Navarro, originally founded in Havana, Cuba, is now a brand under CVS Health and is headquartered in Miami. The governor added that by extending vaccinations to these brands under CVS, more Hispanic individuals may feel comfortable receiving a vaccine.
CVS’ vaccine supply is coming from the Federal Retail Pharmacy Program, according to the company. Though operations will be in Miami-Dade County, the company is expecting to receive approximately 62,000 total doses weekly.
Doses of a coronavirus vaccine were expected to arrive at the select CVS and affiliate locations Tuesday, with vaccinations expected to begin as early as Thursday, according to DeSantis. For now, people aged 65 and older will be eligible to sign up for an appointment.
As of Tuesday morning, the CVS website did not include Florida under its vaccine availability list. Once appointments open, people can book their shots at cvs.com. People without online access can contact CVS customer service at (800) 746-7287. Walk-in vaccinations without an appointment will not be provided.
CVS said as more supply becomes available, it will expand vaccine access through its stores in additional Florida counties.
