The 35-year-old piercing artist was best-known to her coworkers and clients at DaVinci Tattoo and Body Piercing as ‘Red’.

Manager Rosy Laboy called Campitelli a “light.” She said Campitelli worked as a piercer for seven years at the Merritt Island mall location.

“Everybody who had contact with her, she literally has touched their lives,” Laboy said.

Sierra Williams was Campitelli’s next-door neighbor and a client, too. She remembered the piercer’s passion for making her customers happy.

“A big loss because everybody really loved her, she was really loved, and she was a special person,’' Williams said.

Laboy said she can’t believe Campitelli is no longer with her and it will be a difficult and long healing process for coworkers.

“She was all about her job. She was very professional, very knowledgeable,” Laboy said. “To this day, people always ask for her. People made appointments, specifically, to be pierced by her.”

Authorities are investigating how the 35-year-old died. Detectives said the evidence so far leads them to believe this was an isolated incident and no arrests have been made.

Dispatchers Saturday reported Campitelli was shot and robbed.

Deputies are asking anyone with information to call BCSO’s Homicide Unit at 321-633-8413 or Crimeline at 1-800-423-TIPS.
