The boy was previously on life support with serious injuries.

Orlando police said Saturday night that the investigation is ongoing.

Detectives are now waiting for the final ruling from the Medical Examiner’s Office.

One week ago, officers responded to the call after learning the boy was caught in the gate. Police were able to get him out. They performed CPR on the child, according to the department, and the boy was taken to a hospital.

The department said it appeared to be a “tragic accident.”

The details surrounding what led to the boy getting caught in the gate have not been released.
