Man shot, killed wife during argument at Brevard home, deputies say

BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. – A man is locked up after deputies found his wife shot to death in a Brevard County home, according to the sheriff’s office.

The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office said deputies responded early Friday morning to a home on Blounts Ridge Road in Mims to reports that a woman was shot.

The woman, later identified as 48-year-old Lynn Rivers, was found by deputies when they arrived.

Deputies arrested Gary Rivers, 50, in the fatal shooting.

Investigators said the couple had been fighting that morning. During the argument, Gary Rivers got a gun and shot his wife once, killing her, records show.

Gary Rivers faces a charge of second-degree murder with a firearm.
