LAKE COUNTY, Fla. – A 39-year-old DeLand woman was killed and two other drivers suffered minor injuries in a three-vehicle crash that closed State Road 44 for hours in Lake County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The fatal crash occurred around 3:20 p.m. Monday at the intersection of Misty Lane and S.R. 44.

A 77-year-old woman was traveling east on S.R. 44 when her SUV struck a sedan that was stopped on the same road, according to the FHP crash report.
The sedan spun out of control into the west lanes and hit a pickup truck, troopers said.
The driver of the sedan died at the scene, the FHP report stated.
The two other drivers suffered minor injuries, according to the FHP.
Troopers stated that all three drivers were wearing seat belts.
This crash remains under investigation.
