Gov. DeSantis awards $6.1 million to Hernando County Education Commissioner Richard Corcoran, Senate President Wilton Simpson join governor

BRROKSVILLE, Fla. – Gov. Ron DeSantis on Monday announced that Hernando County will receive millions of dollars from the state to construct a new education center for workforce training programs.
At the event, held at the American Aviation Flight Academy, DeSantis awarded the county $6.1 million.

“This will be a collaboration between the county, between Pasco Hernandez State College, and between the Hernando County School Board,” DeSantis said. “This will actually have a Pasco Hernando State College campus to host the new Suncoast Technical Education Center, and students will be able to enroll in programs for a variety of in-demand industries related to manufacturing, factoring education, healthcare and aviation.”
DeSantis was joined at the event by Department of Education Commissioner Richard Corcoran and Senate President Wilton Simpson.
