Vinh Chung, 43, killed in shooting, records show

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – The Orange County Sheriff’s Office on Monday released surveillance video that shows a man opening fire last week into a business center, leaving one person dead.

Investigators said the shooting happened around 9:10 p.m. Wednesday at 850 Courtland Street near Lee Road.

Records show that 43-year-old Vinh Chung died in the shooting. It’s not known if Chung was the intended target.

The video shows a static shot of a stairwell. About four seconds into the video, a man wearing black shoes, navy pants, a blue hooded sweatshirt and yellow gloves runs into frame from an open doorway.

The man points a gun at a window and opens fire while running away, the video shows. It is not clear how many shots were fired, but glass can be heard shattering from several windows as the man runs off.

Deputies said the gunman drove away in a car after the shooting. Investigators have not provided a possible motive for the shooting.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crimeline at 800-423-8477 or the Orange County Sheriff’s Office.
