FHP said five people were inside a Kia when the 32-year-old Haines City driver traveled south on Vineland Road, across U.S. 192, into the parking lot of Golden Link Motel in Kissimmee. The man then crashed into the building.

Two passengers, a 31-year-old woman from Clermont and an 18-year-old woman from Kissimmee, died at the scene, troopers said. Three others, including the driver, were transported to the hospital.

A Davenport woman, 39, and an Orlando man, 30, were injured, a FHP crash report shows.

“I heard two people passed away,” Jamal Alsaadi said.

Alsaadi owns Prestige Barbershop next door to the motel.

“Especially this corner here, there’s a lot of accidents that happen,” he said.

He’s been in the location for five years and said based on the number of accidents they’ve seen in the intersection, he’s hopeful officials will look into the safety factors.

“I’ve seen more than 10 accidents in the same area so that means something is not right,” he said.

The crash remains under investigation. Charges against the driver are pending, according to a crash report.
