Man in critical condition after shooting at Orange County deputies, sheriff says

Man opened fire at deputies responded to domestic situation, officials say

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – The Orange County Sheriff’s Office reported a deputy-involved shooting Sunday in Orlando.

According to officials, the incident happened near North Pine Hills Road and Silver Star Road.

Deputies said the 911 call that was made had a woman screaming in the background in distress.

When authorities arrived at the scene, they said they engaged in a foot pursuit with the armed suspect. Authorities said the suspect fired shots and the deputies fired shots back at the suspect, striking him.

Authorities said the suspect, a man in his 30s, was taken to a hospital in critical condition.

According to authorities, the deputies involved are on temporary, paid administrative leave pending a Florida Department of Law Enforcement investigation.
