Falcon 9 rocket lifts off from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station

CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. – SpaceX on Wednesday launched another round of Starlink satellites into low-Earth orbit.

The launch took place at 8:45 a.m. from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station, marking the company’s 41st Starlink mission to date and its 10th overall rocket launch this year.

“It’s amazing. I mean, I’ve always wanted to do this. I’ve always wanted to see a launch,” said Gary Louis, who was visiting from Ohio.

Louis impressed that the most recent launch felt like one giant leap for mankind.

“This is like the first step toward, I see, actualizing what I’ve been reading about all these years with private companies going into space,” Louis said. “Once you get private companies in it, maybe it’s a chance to make it more affordable for people.”

Another man, Bob Blake, of Virginia, also thought it was “neat” to be able to both see and feel the launch from where he viewed it.

“To actually be able to see it, the flames and the noise, it was wonderful,” Blake said. “That is impressive that they have the infrastructure that they can do this.”

Wednesday’s launch, carrying 48 satellites into orbit, comes less than a week after the last round of Starlink satellites went into orbit.

SpaceX launched 47 satellites into low-Earth orbit on March 3.
